Adult Literacy Program

Since 1984, the Adult Literacy Program at the Abington Free Library has helped thousands of adults improve their literacy skills.

We help adults, ages 18 and older, in the following areas:

  • Assist English language learners improve their English skills
  • Improvement with basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Preparation to take a high school equivalency or other tests

We train volunteer tutors who meet with students individually.

We also offer small-group classes where English language learners can practice their English skills.

Our program is free of charge. All students need to register and take a test to determine how we can help them.
