Abington Township Public Library will attempt to automatically renew eligible material from a MCLINC (Montgomery County Library Network Consortium) library that is checked out on your library card, three days before the due date. If successful, your loan period will be extended for an additional full loan period.
There are several ways to find out if an item was automatically renewed:
- If you receive email notices, you’ll get a courtesy notice emailed to you three days before the due date.
- Via your online account.
- By calling 215-885-5180 during operating hours.
An item will not be automatically renewed if:
- Another library user has requested it.
- Your account is, or soon will be, expired.
- The item is a digital item, such as an eBook from Libby.
- The item is an Interlibrary Loan from a library outside of MCLINC.
- The item doesn't have renewals, e.g. museum passes, or books from the Lucky Day collection.
Depending on your preference, you will get an email, phone call, or text notification when the materials that you placed on hold are available for pickup. Please be sure to bring your library card or photo ID. You can change how the library communicates with you by contacting the Circulation Desk at 215-885-5180, ext. 110 or by changing your preferences in My Account.
When your holds are in, you can find them on the Holds Shelf located in the YA department. The materials are filed using the first three letters of your last name and the last four digits of your telephone number. You will need your library card or photo ID to check out your items.
Items are kept on the Holds Shelf for five days before they’re returned to the shelf.
